I find myself searching my files for the old instructions I made myself, followed them and failed installing my "beloved scanner"……. If you buy a Super car and then the engine stops working, you will not be happy if the maker gives you a 1000cc engine to use on it and tells however they have fixed a lot of the crap so you can now get the scanner set up to be a single button click off the win 7 menu. The last time I used it was several weeks ago, now it wont scan anything. With the upgrade to Windows 7 that was the ONE thing that would not migrate. That' s the only way to get the scanner at work with the full HP program . No support for their products. For one, 10 year old scanners are all either 16 bit or 32 bit.
So Windows 7 has a WIA driver but the HP Twain driver will not work through HP Precision Scan Pro. Both my HP Scanjet 4850 AND HP Laserjet 2600n do not have Windows 7 drivers.
